几乎都会有面试的关卡。

面试已经够难了，如果是英语面试岂不是更头痛！

不过不用担心，

在这篇文章，Engoo 将教各位如何用英语回答三个最常见的面试问题，

笔记准备！好好学起来！

Tell us a bit about yourself. 介绍一下自己

自我介绍可能是你第一个会遇到的问题，

但面试不是交朋友，不要讲到自己和工作或研究领域无关的兴趣，

或是家庭背景等无关因素，

而是要多多谈论自己现在或过去相关的经验，增加竞争力。

例如：

1. I've been an accountant  for  seven years.

我从事会计师已经有七年的时间。

2. I work in marketing.

我在行销产业工作。

3. I was responsible for  managing our company's finances.

我负责管理公司的财务。

4. I'm in charge of a team of four people.

我管理一个四人的团队。

5. Before this, I worked for a law firm.

在这之前，我在一家法律事务所工作。

接下来，聊聊这些经历如何让你获得新技能或知识，让你可以运用到下一份工作：

1. My experience as a nurse taught me how to work under pressure.
我当护士的经验让我学会如何在压力之下工作。

2. Through this role, I learned the importance of time management.
这个角色让我学习到时间管理的重要性。

3. Working in a large law firm equipped me with knowledge of many different industries.
在大型法律事务所的工作经验，让我具备许多不同领域的知识。

最后，简短地讲一下你为什么会应征这个职位：

1. I've grown in my current role, but I'd like to apply my experiences to a different industry.
我在目前的职位有所成长，但我想要将我的经验应用到不同的产业。

2. Your company caught my attention because of its excellent reputation.
我被贵公司良好的声誉所吸引。

可以参考以下这个回答范例是如何应用以上句型：

I've been a marketing manager for three years. I'm responsible for our company's email campaigns, social media accounts, and blogs. Before this, I worked in customer service at a bank and a hotel, where I was in charge of bookings and reservations.

My time in customer service and marketing have taught me how important it is to properly manage relationships with customers – and also how much I enjoy this aspect of business. So I started looking for other opportunities in this field and  your company caught my attention because you focus specifically on solutions for customer relationship management.

我任职行销经理一职已经三年，我负责我们公司的电子邮件活动、社群帐号管理和博客。在这之前，我在一家银行和饭店担任客服，我当时负责订房、预约的职务。

我在客服和行销的经历，让我学会适当处理和顾客关系的重要性——也让我发现我对这个领域的热情。所以我也开始寻找该产业中的其他机会，从而被贵公司吸引，因为你们会特别注重客户关系维持的方法。

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 你觉得你五年后会在做什么？

这个问题就是让你展现自己蓬勃的上进心（野心）的时候了。

你可以说说你打算如何在这段时间让自己成长。

这边的说法可以帮助你表达个人成长：

1. I'd like to increase my industry knowledge by attending conferences.
我想要参加研讨会来增加我的产业知识。

2. I'd love to further develop my graphic design skills .
我想要进一步加强我平面设计的能力。

3. I would take advantage of the company's internal training and mentoring programs.
我会善用公司内部训练和指导计画。

而这边的说法可以用来谈论对未来的期望和目标：

1. In five years, I will hopefully have become an expert in branding.
五年后，我希望可以成为品牌化的专家。

2. In five years, I'd like to have worked with some big clients.
五年后，我想要有和大客户合作的经验。

3. One of my goals is to become a certified public accountant.
我的其中一个目标是要通过证书考试，成为公共会计师。

4. I'm excited by the prospect of being sent overseas.
我对于外派机会的前景感到期待。

你可能也会想提到对管理阶层的职位感兴趣：

1. I'd like to take the lead in projects involving big clients.
我想要带领跟大客户合作的案子。

2. I'd love to have the opportunity to lead a team and learn some management skills.
我很乐意带领团队，并学习管理的能力。

3. If I have the chance, I'd love to be considered for a management role.
如果有机会的话，我会希望成为管理阶层的人选。

As an entry level employee, I'm mainly interested in learning, so I definitely want to increase my industry knowledge and take advantage of the company's training programs to further develop my project management  skills.

Also, since my last company served mainly start-ups, I'm excited about the prospect of working with large corporate clients. In five years, I'll hopefully have taken the lead in a few big projects. I'd also love to be considered for a leadership position on the team, if the opportunity arises.

作为基层员工，我学习很感兴趣，所以我绝对会想要拓展我的产业知识，并利用公司的训练企划，进一步培养我的项目管理能力。

此外，因为我的前东家主要替创业公司服务，所以我对于和大型企业客户合作感到非常期待。五年后如果有机会的话，希望我能带领几个大项目，也期望能成为团队里管理职缺的人选。

What are your salary expectations? 你期望薪水是多少？

这个问题在亚洲好像是魔王题之一，因为谦虚也不对，自信也不好，

不过在欧美国家，可以有一说一，觉得自己值多少就是多少。

每个职位都有一个预算，所以其实面试官问这个问题，是想要确认公司请得起你。

回答这个问题时，你可以给一个范围。

要记得在英语系国家里，薪水都是以年薪的概念来讨论的。

1. I'm expecting a salary in the range of  $45,000 and $60,000.
我期望薪水落在 45,000 和 60,000 元美元之间。（年薪）

2. I'm looking to make around  £30,000 to £35,000.
我希望年薪可以在 30,000 和 35,000 欧元之间。

也许你也会想要简短的解释一下你的理由：

1. With my skills/experience/qualifications/certifications,  I'd expect a salary of around $45,000 to $50,000.
因为我所拥有的技能 / 经验 / 资格 / 证照，我会期望 45,000 和 50,000 元美元之间的薪水。

2. Based on my research/knowledge of the industry , positions like this pay in the range of £30,000 to £32,000.
根据我对该产业的研究 / 知识，像这类职缺的薪水会落在 30,000 和 32,000 元欧元之间。

有时候这些问题可能在面试的初期就会遇到，如果是这样的话，

你就会需要更多的信息，才能给一个确切的范围。

你可以用以下说法：

1. I'd prefer discussing specific numbers after we've discussed the details  of the position.
我比较希望在讨论完这个职位的细节之后，再来讨论确切的数目。

2. I'd like to learn more about  what the position entails. From there, we can decide on a fair salary.
我想要先了解更多这个职位的工作内容，再一起决定一个合理的薪资。

3. Could I first ask a few questions about the  responsibilities of this role?  I'll be able to provide a more accurate range that way.
我可以先了解一下这个职位的工作职责吗？这样我就能提供更确切的薪资范围。

4. Can I ask what salary range you have in mind  for this position?
我可以了解贵公司给这个职位的薪资范围吗？

最后，如果有其他因素会影响你的期望，你也可以提出来：

1. Could you tell me about your employee benefits? I heard that your benefits include a gym subscription as well as pet insurance. Benefits like this  could allow me to be more flexible with salary.

可以请您跟我说明一下员工福利吗？我听说贵公司的福利包含健身房的会员和宠物保险，像这类型的福利能让我对于薪资范围保留更多弹性空间。

2. I would like to work remotely from my hometown in Brazil two months every year. If something like that could be arranged, I'd be open to negotiating my salary.
我希望每年可以在我的家乡巴西远程工作两个月。如果可以这样安排的话，我对于薪资的调整空间就比较大。

3. My salary is negotiable depending on the overall compensation package. In particular, I'd like to learn more about stock options and bonuses.
根据公司整体奖励制度，我的薪资范围其实是有很大的讨论空间。我特别想要了解股票选项及奖金的福利。

以下是范例回答：

Based on my knowledge of the industry, similar positions in this region pay in the range of $50,000 to $60,000. With my qualifications, I'd expect a salary in the upper part of that range, so somewhere between $57,000 and $60,000.

However, I'd like to learn more about what the position entails as well as the overall compensation package, including bonuses and equity. From there, I'm sure we can figure out something we can both agree on.

根据我对这产业的了解，这个地区类似职位的年薪大概在 50,000 和 60,000 元美元之间。我会期望我拥有的条件能让我的薪水落在该范围的中上段，也就是 57,000 至 60,000 美元之间

不过，我想要再多了解这个职位的工作内容，以及整体的奖励制度，像是奖金和股票的部分。之后我想我们就能讨论出双方都同意的数目。

已经不止是外商，哪怕是本土企业，

现在有越来越多公司要求面试的时候，

要使用英语，或是有一关是全英语面试，

以确保求职者有过关的英语能力。

如果你在面试的时候，突然想不到回答，

这时候让我们教你三招，为自己争取更多机会！

buy yourself time 替自己争取时间

在英语里面，buy time 是短语争取时间的意思，

buy yourself time 就是替自己争取时间。

在面试中，当你被问到一个你不会的问题，

脑袋瞬间一片空白的时候，你就要想办法为自己拖一点时间，

争取时间想出一点什么，或是用短暂的时间迅速整理思路。

你可以用以下的句子为自己争取一点时间：

That's a great question. Let me think about that for a second. I would say that ...

这个问题很好，让我想一下。我会说⋯⋯

That's a good question. I've honestly never thought about that. Let me think just for a moment.

这个问题问得非常有意思，老实说我从未想过！让我想一想。

当然，并不是说你傻傻把这句话背下来就能解套，

你只是利用说这几句话的时间，赶紧想想问题答案，

当你说完，也该想出一点什么，

并且整场面试，这个 "that's a good question" 招数最好只用一次喔！

如果你觉得自己距离答案非常接近，或是已经想出一部分答案，

但还需要再争取一点时间思考，你可以先这样说：

I think there are _____(number) main aspects to this issue. First, I'm going to start with......

我认为这个议题主要可以从⋯⋯个角度切入。首先，我要先从⋯⋯开始

clarify the question 厘清问题

想不到问题的答案，可能是因为没有被问过这样的问题，

也可能是因为问题的方向比较模糊，

这时候你可以请求面试官再重复一次问题，

或是以你自己的意思先解释问题的核心，

再询问面试官这样的诠释是否是对方要的。

举体来说，你可以这样说：

I'm not sure I understood the question fully. Could you explain what you mean by _____?

我不确定自己是不是完全理解问题的意思，你可以解释你所谓的⋯⋯

I'm so sorry, I'm not sure what you meant by that. Can you repeat your question please?

非常抱歉，我不确定你指的是什么，可以请你再重复一次问题吗？

I'd like to make sure I understood correctly. You're asking __________?

我想确认一下我的理解是否正确，你是在问⋯⋯吗？

这也和招数一有着异曲同工之妙，

也可以为你多争取一点时间思考，

甚至很多面试官在你问出这个问题后，

会多给你一些提示，让你可以更了解问题的意思。

thank you letter 感谢信

最后一招，则是事后补救了。

在面试结束后 24 小时内，

记得要寄 thank you letter（感谢信）给面试官。

如果你觉得面试时表现不好，

那还可以在 thank you letter 提到面试中自己回答不够好的问题，

以表现出自己对这份工作的渴望，以及为此做的准备。

你可以在信中这样说：

I appreciated your question on ______. After giving it more thoughts, I would say _______.

我非常喜欢你对⋯⋯的问题，在更深层的思考后，我认为⋯⋯
