强调修饰句式

far / much / quite / even / a lot + 比较级

加上这些单词会有不同的修饰语气，

像是 far（远比）、quite（相当）、even（甚至）等等。

【例句】

These cookies are much more expensive than the ones that I bought yesterday.

这些饼干比我昨天买的贵多了。

They did the homework even better.

他们把这作业做得甚至更好。

特殊句式

the + 比较级, the + 比较级    愈...愈...

【例句】

The hotter the weather is, the more I desire ice cream.

天气越热，我越想吃冰淇淋。

2.有些单词本身就有比较级的意思，所以不需要另外变化，以下是一些常见的句式：

be superior to = be better than 优于....

【例句】

There is no race superior to the others.

所有种族之间都是平等的。 （没有哪个种族优于其他种族。）

be inferior to = be worse than 劣于....

【例句】

This book is inferior in style to the other.

这本书的文笔比那本差。

be senior to = be older than 比...更年长

senior 有 "年资较高、历练较多" 的意思，

所以使用时会比 older than 更有尊重人的感觉。

【例句】

Mary is two years senior to me.

Mary 比我大两岁。

be junior to = be younger than 比...更年轻

在表达年龄的差距时，除了像上个例句直接加在 adj 前面以外，

也可以用 by 来表示差距呦！

【例句】

Mary is junior to me by two years .

Mary 比我小两岁。

实用短语

nothing more than 仅;只

【例句】

I want nothing more than to have someone to talk to.

我需要的只是个可以倾诉的对象。

nothing less than 完全；简直是...

将上一句的 more 换成 less ，

句子的语意就变得完全不一样了，所以使用上必须多加留意！

【例句】

It is nothing less than a miracle that we passed the test.

我们能通过这次的考试，简直就是个奇迹。

more or less 大约...

【例句】

The road trip across the continent takes two weeks, more or less.

这趟横越大陆的陆上旅行大约会花费两周。

sooner or later 迟早；总有一天

【例句】

Sooner or later, she is going to realize the reason why our teacher told us these things.

她迟早会了解为什么老师要告诉我们这些事情。

【补充语法】

• sooner rather than later 尽早；宁可早一点

字面上就是快一点比晚一点好，也就是尽早的意思！

【例句】

Don’t stay up late by the deadline. I hope you can finish the work sooner rather than later.

不要到了 ddl 前夕才开始熬夜赶工，我希望你可以尽早完成这项工作。

no longer / more 无法...

【例句】

I can no longer endure his bad temper.

我再也受不了他的坏脾气了。

比较级是英语语法中常见又重要的句型之一，

当我们需要表达 "他长得比我高" 或是 "什么东西最贵" ，比较级句型就可以派上用场。

所以今天就来整理一些的比较级句型，让我们开始学习吧！

同等比较句型

1. as (adj.) / (adv.) as 和...一样...

在比较句型中，接在第二个主语后的 be / 助动词常常会省略，例如上句的 "is" ，还有此文章其他例句括号省略处。

【例句】

The pencil is as expensive as that eraser (is).

这个铅笔跟那个橡皮一样贵。

【补充语法】

(1) 在形容词后面加上要修饰的名词

【例句】

I don't have as many shoes as you.

我的鞋子没有你那么多。

(2) not as (so) (adj.) / (adv.) as… 比...更不如

如果在此句型加上否定的话，就能表达 "比...更不如" 的意思。

【例句】

Amy did not arrive here as early as you.

Amy 没有比你早到。

2. the same as 和...一样...

【例句】

Your bag is the same as mine.

你的包包跟我是同一款的。

3. the same + 名词

【例句】

The young boy does the same job as his mother (did).

这个年轻的男孩从事跟他妈妈一样的工作。

【补充语法】

这里补充两个句型，虽然也是 as...as 的用法，

虽然只差一个字，但意思相差很大！

(1) as soon as 一...就...

【例句】

As soon as you finish your work, call me instantly.

你工作结束之后，马上打给我。

(2) as long as 只要...

【例句】

You can achieve your dream as long as you devote yourself to studying.

只要你认真努力学习，就可以达到你的梦想。

【补充语法】

devote...to 动名词 / 名词 (phr.) 致力于...

这里的 to 是介词，所以后面如果要接动词的话必须改为动名词 (V-ing) 的形式。

倍数比较句型

倍数+ as (adj.) / (adv.) as

【例句】

The city library has twice as many books as my school library.

市立图书馆的藏书量是我学校的两倍多。

不等比较句型

1. 基本比较型

比较级(adj.) / (adv.) + than…

（劣势比较用 less，表示不足）

【例句】

Bill runs faster than me/ I (do).

Bill 跑得比我快。

Bill eats less food than me.

Bill 吃得比我还要少。

2. 两者间的比较

be + the 比较级 + of the two

【例句】

May is the taller and more energetic of the two.

May 是两人中比较高也比较有活力的那个。

【补充语法】

当表示三者（含）以上的最高级时，of 后面须接比较的范围

【例句】

Mary is the most intelligent of all my sisters.

Mary 是我的姐妹之中，最聪颖的那个人。

3. 用比较级方式表达最高级的句型

(1) No other A + be 比较级+ than B 没有...比...更...

【例句】

No other celebrities are more notorious then her.

没有其他名人的声誉比她更不好。 （意即她的声誉最不好。）

(2) ... be 比较级+ than any other B … 比其他的...更...（相同范围）

【例句】

The territory of Russia is larger than any other country in the world.

俄罗斯的领土范围比世界上的其他国家都还要大。（表示最大）

【补充语法】

上句的 any other 可换成 all the other，如果换成 any 名词或是 all the 名词，则表达不同范围的比较。

【例句】

The spoon is much brighter than all the forks on the table.

这个汤匙比桌上的所有叉子都还要光亮。
